So after a hugely successful surf competition on Saturday we were straight back to it on Sunday with another 48 new recruits from Catterick Army Barracks. These lads have only been in the army for a week and already they've been treated to a days surfing here at K10 BAY.

What a day for it as well, with waist to shoulder high groundswell, offshore wind and sunny skies it was near perfect conditions for learning. The initial worries about being cold in the water were soon thrown out the window once they got in and realised how much difference the wetsuits make!

The fun didn't stop; from the first wave until the end of the session there wasn't one of them without a huge grin on their face and over 95% of them managed to get stood up. The feedback we had as well was extremely positive with lots of them wanting to stay in for longer and planning to return as soon as possible to hire the kit for a day and improve on their new found skills.

We also threw in a well deserved BBQ for them afterwards, giving them a chance to relax a refuel in the sun, whilst taking in the stunning views from K10 cliff top. It's also a great team building activity and good chance for them all to get to know each other a bit better having got through their first weeks intensive training together.

A huge thanks and well-done to Scots 6 regiment, a great bunch of lads and we look forward to seeing you all next time!
