Our surf hire centre at Cayton Bay is open 7 days a week year-round offering the very best kit to help keep you warm and comfortable, meaning more time in the water to help keep that learning curve vertical.

Our wetsuits are all 5/4mm so perfect for year-round use and we have boots, gloves and hoods available for the cooler months of the year to make sure you’re ready to battle the elements.

For those learning to surf we have a range of the latest model foam top boards from Alder and Soft-tech, these are very stable, easy to paddle and are the safest way to get in the water and learn to surf. We have 7ft, 8ft and 9ft boards available to suit all surfers.

We would always recommend a surf lesson for total beginners and use these boards exclusively for surf tuition.

For the novice to intermediate surfers, we offer a range of Hard mini mals and longboards. These Demo hard boards are the perfect next step from the foam boards used initially, offering more performance whilst still catching waves well. Your welcome to try out any board from the range and with 6’8 – 9’6 models on offer we’ll have a board to suit you. If you decide to “try before you buy” and go on to buy a new board we’ll even refund your hire charge…

We also have a small range shortboards from Lost, these boards feature the latest technology from Lib-Tech and present a rare opportunity to try before you buy.

For calm days we have a fleet Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP’s) for hire, these offer the perfect flat water alternative to surfing helping improve balance, coordination, core strength and upper body fitness. For summer 2019 we will have a new range of inflatable  SUPs from RED Paddleboards which are extremely light and easy to use.

Currently one of the fastest growing sports worldwide and a great way to explore the bay on those less than perfect surf days. With a little practice and the right board under your feet you can surf them too, you’ll be able to pick waves up much easier than normal and ride surf too small to surf on a standard longboard opening up a lot of new opportunities to get down to the beach and have some fun with all the family.
